smartCurling dibinātājs un vadītājs Braiens Grejs (Brian Gray) drīzumā kļūs par Rīgas jaunāko rezidentu un jau veic pēdējos soļus savas pārvākšanās procesā. 43 gadus vecais Skotu kērlinga speciālists nolēma pārvietot savu personīgo un biznesa dzīvi pārcelt no Šveices pilsētas Bernes uz Rīgu lai Kērlinga Hallē atvērtu sava smartCurling Austrumeiropas bāzi. „Pārvākšanās uz Latviju man liekas loģisks solis. No 2012. gada 1. janvāra smartCurling International Curling School’s Europe – East mītne ir Kērlinga Hallē Rīgā. Pirmā rezervācija septiņu dienu garai apmācībai maijā jau ir saņemta no Baltkrievijas komandas. Šis projekts ko uzsāka smartCurling ciešā sadarbībā ar SIA Kērlinga Halle vadību dos iespēju komandām, kuras sacenšas nacionālā un starptautiskā līmenī, strādāt ar pieredzējušu starptautisku treneri pēc 4 – to – 1 principa (četri spēlētāji un viens treneris).

Brian Gray, well known curling specialist in Latvia, will soon be Riga’s newest resident
Brian Gray is in the final stages of moving to Latvia. The 43-year-old Scotsman has decided to move his business and personal base from Berne in Switzerland to Riga. “The move to Latvia makes a lot of sense to me. It makes sense personally, at a business level and, of course, in the curling context too.”
Why?
“I have been coming to Latvia since 2004 and almost all of the experiences have been positive. The people are a kind, the city is beautiful, and I believe it is perfect timing to move some Swiss Francs into Euro. In addition, I’m spending more and more of my time in The East, and I have business customers in Moscow, Atyrau and Doha. Add to that the friends in the Latvian curling family, a great relationship with the LKA, and the opportunity to offer excellent value training camps at the SIA Kerlinga Halle in Riga, and Latvia is the place for me right now.“
Since 01.01.2012, smartCurling International Curling School’s Europe – East location is at the SIA Kerlinga Halle in Riga. The first booking, from a team in Belarus, has already been received for a 7-day Curling Camp in May. The project, initiated by smartCurling in close cooperation with the board of the SIA Kerlinga Halle, will allow teams competing in national and international championships to work with an experienced international coach on a 4-to-1 (4 players to 1 coach) basis.
“There has been quite a bit of interest in the new school from outside of Latvia, thanks to the Facebook website. We are well on our way to having 200 followers on that website. Latvian curlers shouldn’t hesitate to check us out on Facebook too, to get informed about new coaching opportunities in their country.”
